A year of accolades continues for Omega Engineering Services

Omega Engineering Services has been announced as winners of the WEAF Business Improvement Award 2013. With a panel of industry professionals judging the entries, Omega reports that it is delighted to be recognised for demonstrating best practice and proven performance.

The UK is home to the second largest aerospace industry in the world and 27% of the UK aerospace industry is based in the South West of England. The West of England Aerospace Forum (WEAF) is a membership trade association that champions and supports the interests of the aerospace and defence industry in the South West of England. The forum leads the sector in delivering national supply chain initiatives, which connect the SME community to the Primes.

Omega created an impressive strategy to build their customer base, having historically relied heavily on one client to bring them 95% of their business. A focused sales drive together with a commitment to listen to their clients, not to overpromise and ultimately deliver quality has delivered outstanding growth, with both the workforce and turnover growing threefold in just a few years.

MD Andrew Hopcraft attributed the growth to the Omega team stating they “have embraced our culture and driven through the changes we have made (with) every single member of the business working towards the same goal.”

This year has been a busy one for Omega Engineering Services having also been shortlisted in the ‘Made in the South West’ Awards (Defence and Aerospace) and announced in the ‘Top 50 Manufacturing companies in the Cotswolds’.

Omega were presented with their award by Barry Warburton, Chief Executive, WEAF at the WEAF Annual Conference in Weston-Super-Mare.
