CompAir offers free energy advice at Maintec 2012

At Maintec 2012, visitors to the Gardner Denver CompAir stand (stand F1) are being offered a range of free-of-charge compressor equipment audits, designed to reduce cost of ownership and improve energy performance for operators.

Customers can benefit from a quick and simple air energy audit, designed to analyse compressed air usage, including parameters such as air pressure requirements, power consumption and flow rates. 
The information obtained can then be used to identify ways to improve the performance of an existing installation.  This can include recommendations on any upgrades to the network, such as selecting the right size and mix of fixed and regulated-speed compressors or whether switching to a new, more energy-efficient machine may help save cost.
Leak detection
Estimates claim that the cost of just one, 3-mm compressed air leak, at 7-bar pressure could be as high as £1,000 per year, so CompAir is also offering visitors the opportunity to benefit from a leak test audit.
This simple test will help give plant managers an overview of where their compressed air system could be wasting energy.  Operators can then take steps to rectify any problems, using CompAir’s comprehensive leak testing equipment, which can identify even the smallest leaks by using ultrasound to detect turbulence generated at the site of the air escape.
This clean and quick method can detect leaks from any distance and is ideal in noisy plant conditions to check air cooling lines, condensate drain valves, couplings, hoses, joints and pipes.
All makes, all models
Through its dedicated aftermarket division, the company offers national service capabilities throughout the UK and Ireland, offering an all-makes, all-models solution from 4 bar, through to 414 bar on all types of compressors and downstream equipment.
CompAir aftermarket experts will be on hand throughout the show to advise on a range of compressor maintenance packages available, including reactive and breakdown repairs alongside preventative and predictive service options.

Heat recovery
CompAir will be advising on its range of heat recovery options, which can recover and transfer the majority of the heat lost during compression, with excellent payback results.  This reclaimed heat can be used to heat the factory water supply or can be recovered and diverted to a different part of the factory through ducting.

The company will also be showcasing some of its most popular compressors, including a 7 kW oil-lubricated rotary screw unit alongside models from the proven Hydrovane range of compact vane machines.
