Mid-Tech celebrates next phase of business at new premises

08 September, 2016

Local compressed air aftermarket specialist Mid-Tech has celebrated the next phase of its business with an open day at its new sales and service centre in Kenilworth, following impressive commercial growth.

Providing essential compressed air and vacuum solutions to an extensive range of businesses in the Midlands, covering the automotive, food and beverage, printing, pharmaceutical and general engineering sectors, Mid-Tech has grown from one to eight members of staff since it began four years ago.

Ongoing development

The ongoing development of the business has resulted in a move to new premises at Holly Farm Business Park in Kenilworth, which is approximately four times larger than the company’s previous base. Offering increased spares stockholding and improved workshop capabilities, Mid-Tech is now able to fully service and test equipment on-site.

A master distributor of compressed air and vacuum solutions from manufacturer Gardner Denver, Mid-Tech’s team includes four fully trained service engineers. Recent recruits include newly qualified engineers as part of the Ministry of Defence’s redeployment scheme, helping highly skilled and experienced ex-military personnel into new careers after leaving the armed forces.

Vanda Jones, executive director of the British Compressed Air Society (BCAS), attended the open day, as well as representatives from a number of Mid-Tech’s key suppliers and customers. Jones commented: “It is encouraging to see a distributor such as Mid-Tech going from strength to strength, and we will continue working with them to advise on legislation, technical standards, education, compliance, safety and environmental matters as and when required.”

Mike Searle, operations director at Mid-Tech, said: “The open day was a great success, marking the next phase of our organisation. We were thrilled to welcome BCAS, our valued customers and suppliers – not to mention one of our much-loved sponsored racehorses – to help celebrate our continued growth.”

Increased capacity

Searle continued: “The increased capacity of the new premises has enabled us to offer hire and rental of compressed air and vacuum equipment. We have an extensive fleet, both new and second hand, available for both short-term and long-term hire.

“It is our aim to offer the highest levels of equipment supply and service to our customers, using only genuine spare parts. Whether it’s Gardner Denver’s oil-lubricated or oil-free compressor range or the latest vacuum equipment from Elmo Rietschle, we are committed to offering high-quality solutions to the industry.”
