Hannover Messe 2016 focuses on the age of Integrated Industry

14 April, 2016

From 25 to the 29 April, 5000 companies will demonstrate their innovations and solutions to 200,000 visitors from 100 countries at Hannover Messe 2016, the trade fair for industrial technology. The event will comprise five trade fairs focusing on: Industrial Automation, Digital Factory, Energy, Industrial Supply and Research & Technology.

‘Integrated Industry – Discover Solutions’ will be the lead theme of this year’s event. Dr Jochen Köckler, member of the managing board at Deutsche Messe, commented: “Integrated Industry is no longer a vision of the future. It is reality. Industry 4.0 is moving into more and more factories. Power grids will evolve into smart grids. To remain competitive, companies must recognise and fully exploit the potential of digitalisation. Hannover Messe 2016 will show them how.”

The digitalisation of factories and energy systems is the foremost topic at Hannover Messe 2016. For the first time, Dr Köckler expects more than 100 concrete examples of applications of these types of applications at the fair.

The Partner Country for this year’s Hannover Messe will be the USA. US President Barack Obama will be open the event with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The US will be highly active in demonstrating the newest Industry 4.0 technologies. Additionally, the US-based Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) will present itself at a special display area. IIC is a globally active organisation that promotes the development of the Industrial Internet of Things.

Many key players in industrial digitalisation will gather in Hannover – including European companies with mechanical and electrical engineering expertise, leading US software providers, and companies from China and Japan that advocate Integrated Industry.

Marc Siemering, senior vice president of Hannover Messe, commented: “At Hannover Messe enterprises of all sizes can forge links with new customers – also outside of their established sectors. The five flagship fairs taking place simultaneously at a single venue unite all the key technologies in the industrial value chain and offer limitless synergy potential.”

“Hannover Messe is truly the global showcase for Integrated Industry,” continued Dr Köckler. In Hannover, visitors from the manufacturing industries learn step-by-step how to convert their production plants into Industry 4.0 factories.”
