Allswage UK and Techmaflex celebrate 20 years together

Albion Hose was established in 1983 by Dave West to supply hydraulic hose, fittings and swaging machines, and quickly established itself as a main player in the industry. The demand for machinery took off and in 1995, after selling various manufacturers’ hose swaging equipment; Albion Hose wanted a sole distributorship.


The company wanted to sell, reliable, high quality machines backed up with factory support so West approached Techmaflex in France. The initial meeting went well and a deal between the two companies was struck; £40,000 of sales in 1996 would be rewarded with the sole distributorship. Announced at the 1996 IFPEX show it was a major success, £25,000 sales at the show and £55,000 by year end - Albion Hose became the sole distributor for Techmaflex.

The partnership has grown from strength to strength and 2016 sees the celebration of 20 years of working together. Built on trust, loyalty and an understanding of the UK market Albion Hose has worked with Techmaflex to develop new machines and adapt to the ever changing market place. Industries now serviced by the two companies include hydraulics, automotive, aeronautical, tube, offshore, mobile workshops and containerised workshops.

2005 saw another big change for Albion Hose - As the relationship grew, and the demand for the machinery became higher, Albion Hose realised a dedicated machinery sales team was needed. The hose and machinery sales were split up and Allswage UK was formed - the only company in the UK dedicated to hose assembly equipment - Allswage UK became an overnight success, now in a separate facility employing 13 people 2015 was great year with a 38 per cent increase in sales compared to 2014.

Gabrielle Bouchet, area sales manager at Techmaflex, commented: “From the start of our relationship, in 1996, the two companies have worked very hard to maintain a very friendly, trustworthy and respectful relationship; these key elements have allowed us to grow the sales year on year for 20 years. The dedication of Allswage UK saw them exceed the 2015 sales target by 30 per cent, we look forward to another 20 years of success.”

Allswage UK will be celebrating the 20 years at this year’s Fluid Power & Systems show.
